Of my newest original designs, this is my favorite. Brigid is the Irish goddess of healing, artistic creation, and strength. To create this design, I included three key elements:
Hammer — To honor Brigid’s blacksmithing aspect, the outline of this design is her smithing hammer. In contrast to the Viking Thor’s Hammer and its ability to destroy, Brigid’s Hammer also has the power to create. She represents the fire and forge of creation, hearth, and home.
Goddess — In this design, do you see the goddess with her arms raised as if to strike with a hammer? The blessings of Brigid include artistic creation, inspiration, and strength.
Triple Knot — Brigid of Ireland is often considered a triple goddess. The triple knot is also known as the Triquetra or Trinity Knot, and it has been used in Irish and Celtic art for centuries.
