About Celtic knots and my butterfly design-
Celtic knotwork patterns have been used for centuries as symbols of connection, protection, and good luck. And, let’s be honest, because they look awesome.
The butterfly was a request for a request for a wedding, so how could I resist! When I created this design, I incorporated the majestic beauty of the butterfly with the whimsy of their flight patterns. It also forced me to modify my typical style; this is the first time I varied the line thicknesses within the design. The varying lines help capture the complexity of the butterfly, without over-cluttering the design. The Butterfly is a symbol of beauty and understanding. And it is true: When you understand the nature of something, it is very easy to see its beauty!
All CelticKnotWorks pieces are proudly handcrafted in the USA. This butterfly is my original design, designed from scratch by me. I make these in partnership with my family business, Deva Designs.
